The PITTAR OPzV series is a premium range of Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries designed for the most demanding, high-reliability cycling and standby power applications. These batteries utilize advanced immobilized GEL electrolyte combined with robust Tubular Plate technology, setting a benchmark for long service life and consistent performance in extreme operating conditions. Manufactured strictly according to DIN standards, the OPzV series provides a superior solution for any critical power system.
Usage & Maintenance Guide
· Storage: Batteries should be stored in a cool, dry environment. For every 6 months of storage at 25°C, a recharge is required.
· First Use: Always fully charge the battery before first use to ensure it delivers its full rated capacity.
· Charging Voltage: Float Use: 13.5V~13.8V (for 12V models) / 2.25V~2.30V (for 2V models) @ 25°C; Cycle Use: 14.2V~14.4V (for 12V models) / 2.37V~2.40V (for 2V models) @ 25°C
· Temperature Compensation: Apply a compensation of -3mV/°C/Cell for float charging and -4mV/°C/Cell for cycle use.
Features
· Advanced GEL Technology: Uses a thixotropic gel electrolyte that prevents stratification and ensures uniform capacity across the battery, offering high reliability and performance.
· Robust Tubular Plate Design: The positive plate utilizes die-casting grids and a patented active material formula, providing excellent resistance to corrosion and ensuring a long operational lifespan.
· Exceptional Lifespan: Designed for a 20-year floating charge design life at 25°C (77°F), surpassing standard DIN values. It also offers superior cycle life, with thousands of cycles available at various depths of discharge (DOD).
· Wide Operating Temperature: Capable of operating in a broad temperature range: Discharge (-40°C~60°C), Charge (-20°C~50°C), making it ideal for diverse climates.
· Low Self-Discharge: The high-quality gel and plate design ensure a very low monthly self-discharge rate of less than 2% at 20°C, allowing for longer storage periods.
· Deep Discharge Recovery: Excellent recovery capability even after a deep discharge, ensuring system reliability.
· Maintenance-Free: No water topping-up is required throughout the service life, reducing maintenance costs.
· Safety Certified: Manufactured in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 certified facilities. Container material is standard ABS (UL94-HB), with a UL94-V0 option available.
Applications
· Renewable Energy Systems: Solar and wind power storage.
· Telecommunications: Base stations, data centers, and backup power for BTS.
· Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS): Critical backup for IT, medical, and industrial equipment.
· Utility & Power Plants: Switchgear, control systems, and emergency backup.
· Cyclic Use Applications: Electric vehicles (e.g., forklifts, sweepers) and other frequent deep-cycle scenarios.
